About Spyke Motorcycle Clothing

The Spyke story goes back to the Condor firm founded by Luciano Bizzotto (the father of Fulvio Bizzotto) in 1978 as a workshop for manufacturing leather garments. Condor entered the off-road motorcycling world for the first time in the early eighties, producing motocross gear. During this phase Fulvio Bizzotto worked in close contact with his father Luciano, in marketing and production control. Between 1986 and 1990 the Condor brand became increasingly visible in the Motocross and Enduro fields. But the big change was in 1990.

Fulvio Bizzotto, who in the meantime had taken over from his father in running the company, decided to change sector and switch from Motocross to Enduro. From that moment a new era began for Condor, which expressed all its "Italianity" abroad, both in the design and quality of leather suits, creating the new SPYKE brand that has accompanied the entire collection up to the present time.

In 1999 the firm which until then was called Spyke by Condor di Bizzotto Fulvio became SPYKE SRL, a concern with a well-organized distribution network guaranteeing the presence of Spyke products in over 30 countries worldwide.

Thanks to the Spyke leather suits the condor firm began its rapid rise in the motorcycle attire industry dominated by leading brands, with careful choices in terms of commercial strategies and above all the decision to become a part of the most important event in this sector, i.e. the world road racing championship. The early nineties marked Spyke's success in terms of collection, participation in races, and after many years of hard work, the most coveted result in the field of world level competitions came in 1993 with the 125 cc world championship title, thanks to the professionalism and talent of the German rider Dirk Raudies. For years Spyke continued to sponsor world-famous riders in order to make the brand increasing known season after season.

2000 marked a turning-point because in just one season alone Spyke won two important titles, in the 500 cc class with the American rider Kenny Roberts Jr and the Italian Roberto Locatelli in the 125 cc class. After many seasons, in addition to the leather suits which were already well-established on the market, Spyke also began to develop and produce a wide range of products dedicated to the various sectors of motorcycling, such as Touring and Urban.

All-important for Spyke's success on a world level is the quality of the products and above all its expertise in the manufacture of the leather suits, produced in a workshop in Molvena. The workshop has a staff of about 10 persons working under Bruna Lunardi and her daughter Chiara Lunardon. For over 25 years Bruna has devoted much of her life to the production of leather suits, especially for riders having various needs and above requiring perfect sizes.

The close collaboration between professional riders and the racing department gives rise to new ideas on safety, practicality and components which, combined with the study and graphic elaboration by the designers, ensure that the suit being created has been tried and tested from the start, in extreme situations like the race-tracks.

That's why Spyke says the guarantee of safety for the end-user comes from the satisfaction of its riders.
